The Department of Media and Communication is competent with the following:
- Prepare and issue statements showing the positive image of the State to the world's public opinion and respond to any infringements on its sovereignty and international reputation, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
- Coordinate with newspaper correspondents, news agencies and various local, Arab and foreign media outlets and provide them with the Ministry's press releases on events inside and outside the State.
- Monitor, track and analyze daily events inside and outside the State through local, Arab and international news agencies and media, and prepare reports thereon.
- Prepare draft statements and press releases issued by the Ministry.
- Provide the representative missions with news reports on the course of national events in various areas.
- Issue periodical magazines and media bulletins and distribute them inside and outside the State.
- Coordinate and conduct press conferences on the Department's activities.
- Prepare videos, photos and illustrations on the Department’s competencies.
- Carry out simultaneous and written translation for topics, documents, letters, scientific research and foreign correspondence relating to the Ministry's competencies.
