The Diplomatic Institute is competent in the following:
Prepare, qualify and train the Ministry's personnel to work in the diplomatic and consular corps and the field of international cooperation, in coordination with the Department of Human Resources, hold courses and training sessions as well as special qualification programs to develop their practical and theoretical capacities.
Prepare and implement training programs for the Ministry's personnel and those of the representative missions, and equip them with the necessary skills.
Prepare studies and research at the international and regional levels in areas of diplomacy, international political and economic relations and other areas.
Examine and analyze what is issued by regional and international gatherings, research and studies centres and provide officials with opinions on the same as far as such topics relate to the implementation of the State's foreign policy.
Cooperate with ministries, government agencies, public bodies and institutions and private institutions of public interest to fulfil the Institute's functions.
Provide consultations to the ministries, government agencies, public bodies, institutions and private institutions of public interest in the State, by the Institute's terms of reference.
Cooperate and coordinate with universities and similar institutes within and outside the State in all areas that achieve the Institute's objectives.
Hold symposiums, scientific meetings and seminars and participate in meetings, conferences and symposiums relevant to the Institute's objectives within and outside the State.
Provide advanced services to the Ministry's library and provide it with specialized sources of knowledge related to the fields of diplomatic and consular work.
