Diplomatic Institute

The Diplomatic Institute is responsible for:

• Preparing, qualifying and training Ministry staff for work in the diplomatic and consular corps and in international cooperation, in coordination with the Human Resources Department, and holding courses, training sessions and special qualification programmes to develop their academic and theoretical abilities.
• Preparing and delivering training programmes for staff of the Ministry and its missions abroad, and equipping them with the necessary skills.
• Preparing international and regional studies and research in the fields of diplomacy, political and economic international relations, and other fields.
• Studying and analysing publications of regional and international groupings and research centres, and advising officials on them as they relate to the implementation of the State's foreign policy.
• Cooperating with ministries, government agencies, public bodies and institutions, and private institutions of public benefit, to help the Institute carry out its duties.
• Providing consultations to ministries, government agencies, public bodies and institutions, and private institutions of public benefit in the State, within the Institute's areas of competence.
• Cooperating and coordinating with universities and similar institutes in Qatar and abroad in all fields that serve the Institute's objectives.
• Holding seminars, academic meetings and workshops, and taking part in meetings, conferences and seminars related to the Institute's objectives in Qatar and abroad.
• Providing advanced services for the Ministry's library and supplying it with specialised knowledge sources related to diplomatic and consular work.
