The Department of Policy Planning is competent with the following:
Propose appropriate foreign policies for the State by following up, reviewing and updating the State's strategic directions and developing a vision for the same, in coordination with the administrative units, competent authorities and research and studies centers.
Coordinate the State's foreign policies through coordination meetings, strategic dialogues and joint committees, making recommendations and participating in meetings in this regard.
Examine, study and analyze political and economic issues and international relations relating to the Ministry's competencies, in coordination with the concerned administrative units.
Analyze local and international events of interest, draw the necessary conclusions, make proposals thereon and submit the same to the Minister.
Identify and evaluate the anticipated risks in areas of international policy and economic activities.
Follow-up on the implementation of issued political decisions and international agreements, in coordination with the concerned entities.
Summarize and evaluate reports and political studies received by the Minister, and express opinion thereon.
Establish a database for political affairs and international relations in coordination with the competent administrative units.
