The Department of Engineering Affairs and General Services is competent with the following:
Supervise the construction, furnishing and equipping of the Ministry's buildings.
Follow-up on the development of the diplomatic zone, in coordination with the competent State authorities.
Follow-up on procedures of contracts for the establishment, procurement and rental of the Ministry's buildings and representative missions in coordination with administrative units and competent authorities.
Supervise all works related to the maintenance of buildings, furniture, machinery, electrical and water connections, telephone, telex, and fax lines, and others of the Ministry.
Supervise and follow-up the insurance of all buildings and furniture of the Ministry, and all state property, including buildings and furniture of representative missions, in coordination with the competent authorities.
Open and update records for all buildings owned by the Ministry and representative missions and their equipment, including all data related to the building from the technical or financial side, such as maps, title deeds, invoices, receipts, and other documents.
Take the necessary procedures regarding requests received from the Protocol Department for the diplomatic missions and the offices of international organizations accredited to the State, related to the purchase and rental of buildings and government services for them, in coordination with the competent State authority.
Take the necessary procedures on requests from representative missions and follow up and study the requirements of the buildings owned by the Ministry outside the State, in coordination with the competent State authorities.
Conduct the technical evaluation for all projects and buildings owned by the Ministry inside and outside the State and ensure the compatibility and integration of each project with its branches.
Supervise and follow up on projects, develop appropriate execution plans and programs and adhere to all standards of quality and sustainability.
