Biography
H.E. Ismail bin Ali Abdulla Al-Emadi
The Department of Engineering Affairs and General Services is responsible for:
- Supervising projects for the construction, furnishing and equipping of the Ministry's buildings.
- Following up on the development of the Diplomatic Area, in coordination with the competent authorities of the State.
- Following up on contract procedures for the construction, purchase and lease of buildings for the Ministry and its missions abroad, in coordination with the administrative units and competent authorities.
- Supervising all maintenance work on the Ministry's buildings, furniture, machinery, electrical and water connections, telephone, telex and fax lines, and other facilities.
- Supervising and following up on the insurance of all the Ministry's buildings and furniture, and all State-owned buildings and furniture at the missions abroad, in coordination with the competent authorities.
- Opening and updating records for all buildings owned by the Ministry and its missions abroad and their equipment, including all technical and financial data such as maps, title deeds, invoices, receipts and other documents.
- Taking the necessary action on requests received from the Protocol Department on behalf of diplomatic missions and offices of international organisations accredited to the State, regarding the purchase and lease of buildings and related government services, in coordination with the competent authority of the State.
- Taking the necessary action on requests received from the missions abroad, and following up on and studying the requirements of Ministry-owned buildings outside the State, in coordination with the competent authorities of the State.
- Conducting technical evaluations of all projects and buildings owned by the Ministry in Qatar and abroad, and ensuring that every project and its components are aligned and integrated.
- Supervising and following up on projects, setting appropriate plans and implementation programmes, and adhering to all quality and sustainability standards.
