The Control and Audit Department is competent with the following:
Draft the annual audit plan on the Ministry’s administrative units and the representative missions submit it to the Minister for approval, and prepare reports on the results of auditing.
Monitor the extent of compliance with the implementation of laws, regulations and decisions related to the Ministry's activities.
Control the accounts of administrative units and representative missions, and verify that financial transactions and accounting entries related to them have been carried out by the laws and rules in force.
Observe staff recruitment procedures, their holidays, promotions and other matters related to personnel affairs, and verify compliance with the laws, regulations and decisions governing the same.
Detect cases of negligence, financial and administrative violations and abuses explore the causes behind their occurrence, and propose appropriate ways to remedy them.
Review consular revenue operations, conduct the necessary cash inventory for them, and any other monetary value papers, and verify their conformity with the entries and records.
Review the financial instructions, suggest the necessary adjustments and monitor the implementation of the same.
Observe the discipline of the conduct of financial and administrative procedures, prepare reports on the supervisory visits undertaken and submit them to the relevant authority of the Ministry.
Ensure the integrity of funds and custodies owned or supervised by the Ministry.
Take part in the inventory of stores’ contents and other custodies.
