H.E Mr. Jassim bin Mohammed Hassan Al-Asmakh was appointed Director of the American Affairs Department in accordance with Decision No. (22) of 2025, issued by His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- September 2024 – May 2025: (Acting Director) of the
American Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- March 2023 – September 2024: Counselor at the Office of
the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- May 2022 – March 2023: Counselor at the Office of
the Assistant Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
- June 2017 – May 2022: Head of the Government Affairs
Division at the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United States of America.
- May 2014 – June 2017: Permanent Mission of the State of
Qatar to the United Nations and International Organizations in Vienna (IAEA and
UNODC).
- September 2012 – May 2014: Senior Legal Affairs (Counselor), the Legal Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
