The State of Qatar welcomes Britain’s announcement to suspend arms export licenses to the Israeli occupation, including equipment used in the current war on the Gaza Strip. It considers this an important step to protect Palestinian civilians, especially children and women.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs asserts that this suspension is compatible with the resolutions of the Security Council, the UN General Assembly and the International Court of Justice, calling for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, providing full protection to civilians and civilian objects, and ensuring the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The Ministry also notes that this suspension would support the ongoing efforts to end the war in the Gaza Strip.

The Ministry reiterates Qatar’s firm and enduring position in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on the resolutions of international legitimacy and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
