The State of Qatar expresses its deep concern over the further escalation of violence in the vicinity of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State in the brotherly Republic of Sudan. It calls on all parties to defuse tension, restraint and avoid fighting, which will lead to catastrophic consequences for civilians.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the need for dialogue between all Sudanese parties to end the armed conflict permanently, in preparation for launching broad negotiations, ultimately leading to a comprehensive agreement and sustainable peace. It also stresses the need to put the Sudanese crisis on the list of priorities of the international community and fully resolving its roots.

The Ministry reiterates Qatar’s firm position in support of the unity, independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Sudan, rejecting any form of interference in its internal affairs, and fully respecting the choices of its brotherly people in freedom, peace, justice and prosperity.
