The State of Qatar strongly condemns the attempt to assassinate His Excellency Mr. Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovakia. It considers this an unacceptable criminal act and expresses its wishes for His Excellency’s speedy recovery.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need to prosecute those involved in this heinous crime and bring them to justice. It also reiterates Qatar’s firm position on rejecting violence, terrorism and criminal acts, including political assassinations, regardless of the motives and reasons.

The Ministry expresses Qatar’s full solidarity with the government of Slovakia to maintain security and stability.
