The Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar in New York, successfully concluded a study visit to New York for distinguished diplomats from the fifth cohort of the Executive Master's Program in Diplomatic Studies and International Cooperation.
The visit included a series of meetings and field visits to key international institutions affiliated with the United Nations, such as the General Assembly and its Standing Committees (First, Third, and Sixth Committees). Participants also attended a lecture on water diplomacy and engaged in an academic dialogue on journalism and the Middle East at New York University.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Horr, Director of the Diplomatic Institute, highlighted that study visits are a vital component in equipping young diplomatic cadres with practical skills. This aligns with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ vision to prepare a new generation of diplomats capable of effectively representing the State of Qatar on the global stage.
This visit forms part of the program’s efforts to strengthen practical learning by providing participants with firsthand exposure to the workings of international organizations and diplomatic engagement within the United Nations framework.
