Minister of State for International Cooperation Meets UN High Commissioner for Refugees

HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad met Monday with HE the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, on the sidelines of the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, currently underway in Geneva.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the UNHCR and ways to support and develop them, especially Qatar's support for the activities and programs of the UNHCR. They also discussed the developments in the region, especially in the Gaza Strip, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Syria. In that regard, the two sides emphasized the need to support the return of Syrians to their homes and ways to deliver the necessary aid.
The two sides also discussed the importance of concerted international efforts to provide aid to refugees and displaced persons who were forced to leave their homes due to wars.
