Minister of State at Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Qatar's Mediation Experience Proves Every Conflict Holds the Potential for Resolution

HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi affirmed that effective mediation requires wisdom, flexibility, and vision to achieve common ground, noting that Qatar's experience has demonstrated that every conflict holds the potential for a solution.
In his speech at the conclusion of the Doha Forum 2024, HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that mediation stems from Qatar's deep-rooted values and national principles based on justice and fairness, which have formed the cornerstone of Qatar's foreign policy for decades.
His Excellency pointed out that Article 7 of the Qatari Constitution integrates efforts to resolve conflicts and build peace as an integral part of its foreign strategy. He added that mediation allows for turning conflicts into opportunities by building bridges of dialogue and transforming discord into understanding, thus becoming the cornerstone of sustainable peace.
He pointed out that the forum's participants discussed over the past few days the topic of 'The Innovation Imperative,' based on a shared belief that innovation is urgently needed to address the current challenges, adding that this forum has once again confirmed its role as a platform for constructive thinking and collective action.
His Excellency explained that innovation is not just about technical development but is a mindset that requires creativity, adaptability, and the courage to face the status quo. He highlighted that in the fields of diplomacy, development, conflict resolution, and humanitarian efforts, innovation should be the compass guiding the vision towards building a more stable world. He noted that the 2024 forum demonstrated how new visions and cooperation can turn the most complex crises into real opportunities.
The forum emphasized that true progress comes from turning ideas into actions and responding promptly to crises while working towards building lasting peace, he added.
HE President of the 79th United Nations General Assembly Philemon Yang praised the State of Qatar's efforts in diplomacy and promoting dialogue and diversity, noting that since October 2023, Qatar has played a significant and sensitive role in pushing negotiations for peace in Gaza.
He commended the efforts of the Government of Qatar and its people, not only in hosting this forum but also in their tireless efforts to bring hope and opportunity to this region and the broader international community.
The President of the 79th United Nations General Assembly emphasized the importance of collective efforts to build a sustainable future, stating that international cooperation remains the only path to addressing upcoming challenges, enhancing peace, protecting human rights, and ensuring sustainable and equitable social development for everyone everywhere.
He stressed the significant role of the Doha Forum in enriching global discourse, saying that the various topics discussed have confirmed the Doha Forum's position as a key venue for debate, diplomacy, and knowledge exchange.
He concluded that as the world faces daily catastrophic and existential threats, the will and desire for positive change remain evident.
