Qatar Affirms its Cooperation with the United Nations to Address Challenges at Regional and International Levels

The State of Qatar affirmed its commitment and cooperation with the United Nations to address challenges at both regional and international levels, particularly in the Palestinian cause and the situation in Lebanon.

This was stated in a speech delivered by H.E Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Hammadi, Assistant Director- Designate of the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the celebration of United Nations Day 2024, to honor and enhance ongoing cooperation with the international organization to face global challenges.

The celebration was attended by officials from the international organization and representatives of several entities.

Mr. Max Tunon, Head of the National Office of the International Labour Organization, also delivered a speech on behalf of the United Nations, highlighting the role of the United Nations in Qatar and the region in general.

The celebration included a video message from His Excellency Mr. Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, in which he emphasized the importance of multilateral cooperation in the face of complex challenges that the world is facing today.

It is worth noting that the celebration of United Nations Day is held annually on October 24, which coincides with the anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945. This day serves as a global reminder of the enduring high ideals of peace, security, human rights, and development, and the United Nations' commitment to addressing global issues in a spirit of cooperation.
