Diplomatic Institute Celebrates Graduation of 75 Diplomats

The Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs celebrated the graduation of 75 new diplomats from the founding program, in the presence of HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, HE Director of Human Resources Department Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdulqadir Al Ahmed, and HE Director of the Diplomatic Institute Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Horr.
In his speech, HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the need to continue training and development of diplomatic cadres in order to serve the interests of the State and serve citizens abroad.
He also stressed the importance of preserving the form and content of Qatari identity in the diplomat's interaction and actions both in the place of work or in public places, and that all their actions should stem from the spirit promoted by our leadership.
He said that the graduates are the next generation of the Ministry of foreign affairs, and today they started the first steps of a new phase in which they will procced ahead with the path of Qatari diplomacy that has gained high respect from the world.
His Excellency praised the Qatari women who perform diplomatic duties, adding that there are many Qatari women diplomats who have become ambassadors representing Qatar in a number of capitals.
His Excellency called on graduates to work together and respect the hierarchy of responsibility, which contributes to achieving the desired goals and quality of performance.
He stressed the necessity for the diplomat to understand the law of the diplomatic and consular corps, which regulated the system of rights and duties.
For his part, HE Director of Human Resources Department Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdulqadir Al Ahmed stressed the importance of working in the spirit of one team, pointing out that the graduates of these courses were educated in the most prestigious universities inside and outside Qatar, expressing his confidence that this generation will carry out responsibility with dedication and sincerity.
In his speech, HE Director of the Diplomatic Institute Ambassador Dr Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Horr expressed his thanks and appreciation to HE the Secretary-General for keenness to sponsor the graduation of all courses and for his advice the graduates that will be their best guide in their practical career.
His Excellency stated that the year 2019 was full of founding programs and it was unlike previous years in which two programs with five founding programs. He added that 123 diplomats joined this program, 75 of whom were graduated, and the second batch will graduate next month.
The first-place graduate Asma Darwish Al Emadi delivered the graduates speech, expressing her thanks to HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani for his unlimited support to young employees and his interest in new generations of diplomats for them to become highly qualified in representing the State to the fullest extent.
She added that the program has strengthened their capabilities in dealing with diplomatic affairs in terms of skills, rules and principles of diplomatic and consular organization, the art of building public relations and work across cultures, the development of Qatar's foreign policy, the history of the State of Qatar, the principles of international law, and the rules and principles of diplomatic and consulate organization and others.
