Qatar Participates in Meeting of Economic and Social Council's Ranking Officials

The meeting of the ranking officials of the Arab League's Economic and Social Council in its 104th session began Wednesday at the Arab League's headquarters.

The meeting's purpose is to prepare for tomorrow's ministerial meeting, which will be chaired by Palestine. The State of Qatar is represented in the meeting by Deputy Permanent Representative of Qatar to the Arab League, HE Ambassador Hassan bin Ahmed Al Mutawa.

In addition to discussing the activities of the meeting and following up on the resolutions of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit that was held in Beirut last January, the meeting also discusses an article on the social and economic empowerment of Arab women in rural areas. The discussion was proposed by Tunisia. They will also discuss the establishment of an Arab center for economic empowerment, based on a proposal by Palestine.
