The State of Qatar welcomes the announcement of Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani of a truce initiated by the Afghan government for a ceasefire at the start of Eid Al-Adha and calls on Taliban movement to accept the truce, especially during Eid Al-Adha.
The State of Qatar also welcomes the announcement made by both the Afghan government and Taliban movement to release hundreds of prisoners during Eid Al-Adha, and considerers this announcement a step in the right way to demonstrate goodwill of all parties.
The State of Qatar hopes these procedures pave the way for a dialogue between both parties of the conflict as it will insure lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
