Special Envoy of Minister of Foreign Affairs Reviews Darfur Peace with Sudan, UN Officials

HE Dr. Mutlaq bin Majed Al Qahtani, the minister of foreign affairs' special envoy for counterterrorism and mediation of conflict resolution, met separately with HE Sudanese Foreign Minister Dr. Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed; Sudanese presidential envoy for diplomatic contact and negotiation for Darfur, Dr. Amin Hassan Omer; joint special representative for the U.N.-African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), Jeremiah Mamabolo; representative of the United Nations Development Program; and a number of ambassadors of foreign countries.
The meetings reviewed efforts of the Qatari mediation to bring peace to Darfur as well as the progress of implementing the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur, in addition to issues of mutual interest.
