Qatar Participates in UN Sixth Forum on Business and Human Rights

Geneva – Information Office – 30 November
The State of Qatar participated in the sixth United Nation's Forum on Business and Human Rights, held in Geneva under the title "Realizing Access to Effective Remedy".
The Forum contributed to enhancing the opportunities for dialogue and exchange of views among all parties concerned on respect for human rights in business by focusing on the third pillar of the guiding principles of "reparation and redress" in light of challenges of conflict and migration currently taking place in the world.
The discussions during the Forum were aimed at providing high-level views on how to achieve access to effective remedies for victims of human rights violations committed by businesses, ensuring that businesses respect the fundamental principle of the private sector's contribution to inclusive social services and respect human rights defenders and implementing current commitments in business and human rights.
The State Qatar hosted the first Asia Regional Forum on Business and Human Rights from April 19 to 20, 2016.
