Qatar Strongly Condemns Somalia Bombings

Doha/information office / 15 October 2017/The State of Qatar condemned the two bombings which took place in the K5 Junction and Madina district in Somalias capital Mogadishu, which killed 40 people and injured dozens others, destroyed several buildings and set dozens of vehicles on fire.

 

An official source at the Foreign Ministry stressed the solidarity of the State of Qatar and its support to the sisterly Somali government in the face of terrorism and to achieve stability in the country, affirming that such acts aimed at destabilizing and spreading chaos among the Somali people, and they are contrary to moral values and humanity and divine laws.

 

The source stressed the need for concerted efforts by the international community to combat the phenomenon of terrorism.

 

The Foreign Ministry's statement expressed Qatar's sincere condolences to the families of the victims and hopes for speedy recovery to the wounded.

 

The source reiterated the firm position of the State of Qatar rejecting all forms of terrorism and violence regardless of its source or motives.
