Qatari Ambassador: Spanish Companies Need Actual Presence in Qatar

HE Qatar's Ambassador to Spain Mohammed Jaham Al Kuwari said that more than 60 Spanish companies are operating in all key areas in the State, including World Cup infrastructure projects, transportation and sports.

In an interview with the Spanish newspaper (Cinco Dias), HE the Qatari Ambassador said that the door is always open to more Spanish companies to work with Qatar in the preparation for the World Cup, adding that there are ongoing talks with the Spanish government to take advantage of Spain's experience in organizing events.

He underlined that the relationship between Qatar and Spain in the field of sports is very strong in light of the Qatari investments in Spain, and that there is a mutual interest between the two countries to developing the bilateral relations.

HE the Qatari Ambassador said that Qatar has established an association of all Spanish companies in Qatar and all contacts with the authorities, noting that the State is also establishing a Chamber of Commerce to include both Spanish and government companies alike.

He added that Qatar has significant investments in Spain in various fields such as energy, tourism and sports, and is keenness on establishing a strategic relationship.

HE the Qatari Ambassador underlined that the Spanish companies need an actual presence in the State of Qatar and need to open offices in Qatar like other countries in Europe and the United States.
