Qatar's Ambassador to Brazil Says Siege Countries' Strategy to Suffocate Qatar Has Failed

HE the State of Qatar's Ambassador to Brazil Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Haiki stressed that the strategy of the siege countries to suffocate Qatar economically and politically has failed and reached a dead end. His Excellency added that now was the time for the countries to track back and take a rational approach to the current GCC crisis.
Al Haiki said in an interview with Correio Braziliense that the demands of the siege countries cannot be implemented, adding that the siege countries must listen to the wise voices such as those of the State of Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman. His Excellency stressed that conditions now favor the State Qatar, whose efforts were based on honesty in contrast to the besieging parties who built their position on fabrications.
His Excellency said that they directed many bad accusations but failed to offer one piece of evidence to support their claims, stressing that campaigns based on lies and fabrications cannot last long without being uncovered.
HE the ambassador noted that the siege countries retracted their 13 dictations that violated international law and an infringed on Qatar's sovereignty. HE the ambassador added that their intentions were not to counter terrorism, because terrorism found fertile ground in the countries accusing Qatar of it. The ambassador stressed that the siege countries have no other option but to sit on the negotiating table.
HE Mohammed bin Ahmad Al Haiki said that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State of Qatar and United States of America for counter-terrorism reflects clearly the strategic bilateral ties.
His Excellency noted that the signing by HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah in Washington of a contract to purchase 36 F-15 planes six days after announcing the siege, in addition to the U.S. sending of navy ships to Doha for military maneuvers with the State of Qatar was a clear signal to the siege countries to dismiss any other intentions they might have for the State of Qatar.
His Excellency said that the signing of the MoU was a confirmation of continuing the strategic alliance with the United States and that Qatar has nothing to hide and is serious on the issue of counter-terrorism.
His Excellency noted that the demands of the siege countries was an aggression against the sovereignty of the State of Qatar and a violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, pointing out that there were strong pressures on the siege countries from super powers such as the United States, France, UK, and Germany.
On the UAE's accusation that Al Jazeera was anti Semite and incites violence, His Excellency said that the UAE used all the means possible to stop Al Jazeera channel but the civilized world does not accept censoring freedom of speech and called on the UAE to accept that truth that the world Qatar and the civilized world lives in is different than the one they are living in.
