Foreign Minister Meets German Counterpart

Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here on Friday with German Foreign Minister HE Sigmar Hartmut Gabriel, during his current visit to Germany

The two sides discussed relations between the two countries and means of boosting them, in addition to the developments in Syria, Yemen, Libya and the region in general.

The meeting also dealt with developments in the region, which witnessed the severing of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, (UAE) with the State of Qatar.

HE the Foreign Minister stressed that the measures taken against the State of Qatar are contrary to international law and humanitarian law, noting that there is an attempt to mobilize international opinion against Qatar.

For his part, HE German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said that Qatar is a strategic partner in the fight against terrorism, stressing his country's rejection of severing relations and imposing a blockade " as unacceptable matter."
