Qatar Supports UN Office For The Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs With $40 Million

The State of Qatar, represented by Qatar Fund for Development, has signed an agreement with the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) to provide a multi-year generous financial contribution of $40 million to support the office, in the presence of HE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and HE Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations Amina Mohammed.
The agreement was signed for Qatar Fund for Development by its Director-General Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari, and for the OCHA by UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Stephen O'Brien, on the sidelines of the 17th Doha Forum.
The State of Qatar ranked second in the list of the ten countries that support humanitarian affairs according to the United Nations statistic for 2016.
