Qatar Welcomes Sudan's Decision on Cease-fire in Blue Nile and South Kordofan Region
Doha/Information Office/19 June 2016/ The State of Qatar has welcomed the Sudan's decision on the cease-fire in the regions of Blue Nile and South Kordofan. In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign affairs confirmed Qatar's support for all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive peace in Sudan. It considers the Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's recent decision to 4-month cease-fire in the regions of Blue Nile and South Kordofan, as a positive step towards enhancing security and stability in the country. The statement also stressed Qatar's support for the Republic of Sudan in its efforts to push forward the peace process in order to reach a political settlement through a comprehensive national dialogue that responds to the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.
