Qatar Chairs Meeting in Berlin to Discuss Establishment of Education Fund for Syrian Refugees Children
Berlin/ Information Office/ 09 September 2015/ The State of Qatar has chaired a round table meeting in the German capital Berlin to discuss an initiative to establish a fund to finance education and rehabilitation programs for Syrian refugees children in asylum countries, which announced by HE Qatar's Foreign Minister Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah in Kuwait at the Donor Conference last March. The Qatari initiative to establish a fund to finance education and rehabilitation programs for Syrian refugees children in asylum countries was presented during the meeting by HE Head of the Foreign Ministry's Department of International Development Dr. Ahmed Al-Muraikhi. HE Qatar's Ambassador accredited to the Federal Republic of Germany Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Khulaifi hosted the round table meeting with the participation of delegations from the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium and France as well as the United Nations, UNICEF, UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Reach Out To Asia (ROTA). The State of Qatar's delegation explained during the meeting the objectives of the initiative, stressing its importance to avoid the loss of an entire generation. The participating delegations praised the efforts exerted by the State of Qatar to provide relief and assistance to the Syrian people. They also stressed their support for the Qatari initiative.
