Advisor to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Majed bin Mohammad Al Ansari stressed on Tuesday the positive efforts made by the State of Qatar to solve several international topics and issues, which include various fields.

During the media brief held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Al Ansari indicated that the visit of HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi to Tehran and inviting HE President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi to visit the State of Qatar, as well as meeting with several officials in Iran are part of a series of continuous visits between the two countries to hold talks on the return of the joint action plan and the continuous efforts to bridge points of view between Iran and the international community in general on various topics.

He underscored that the State of Qatar continues its positive efforts in that regard by presenting proposals and facilitating meetings between Western and Iranian officials in Doha. He pointed out that the Doha initiative is not the only one in the region, as there are many initiatives that Qatar considers complementing each other and supports, which leads to more rapprochement and qualifies for the return of the nuclear agreement, especially since the challenges are great in this file and cannot be solved through one mediator.

He indicated that the State of Qatar seeks to overcome the great difficulties facing reaching an agreement by moving forward and transforming this big issue into topics that can be dealt with each of them separately, and standing at certain points and addressing them separately to reach a picture that makes the situation closer to a comprehensive agreement between the two parties.

Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari discussed the activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the past week, pointing out that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani will meet on Tuesday evening with HE Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom James Cleverly, who is visiting the country. The two sides will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and their aspiration to hold another strategic dialogue next year in Doha after the first dialogue that was held in February last year.

He stressed the strategic continuity of the relations between the two countries in various fields, and that such meetings come within the framework of the State of Qatar's efforts to play a positive role internationally in various topics.

Dr. Al Ansari pointed out HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani's phone call with HE Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony Blinken and their discussion on the developments in the war crisis in Ukraine, developments in the situation in Afghanistan, and the latest developments in the Iranian nuclear agreement. He also pointed out HE Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater's phone call with HE Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi on the need to take into account the humanitarian aspects, especially in light of the Ukrainian-Russian crisis, and the importance of maintaining the stability of global food security in the field of grain.

He noted the State of Qatar's participation in the conference on irregular migration that was held in Rome, Italy. He also noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to hand him an official objection memo that includes calls on the Swedish authorities to take all the necessary measures to stop these heinous practices related to the attack on a copy of the Holy Quran in the Kingdom of Sweden, and the failure of the authorities there to stop these practices, which express hatred and religious discrimination. Furthermore, the State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, stressing that allowing the repeated infringement of the Holy Quran under the pretext of freedom of expression fuels hatred and violence, threatens the values of peaceful coexistence, and reveals abhorrent double standards.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs touched on the signing of the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkiye on a joint statement on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries, praising the level of Qatari-Turkish cooperation in vital fields, especially in the sectors of investment, trade exchange, tourism, and culture, expressing his hope that relations between the two countries would expand to broader horizons.
