Qatar Affirms Cooperation Between IAEA, Iran Only Way to Resolve All Outstanding Issues

The State of Qatar affirmed that cooperation and positive interaction between the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Islamic Republic of Iran, through full respect for the agencys mandate and the rights and obligations of Tehran, remains the only way to resolve all outstanding safeguards issues, and to prepare the technical requirements for the resumption of work on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as an important international mechanism in non-proliferation regime.
This came in the State of Qatar's statement delivered by HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, who is the IAEA Governor from the State of Qatar, during the discussion of the item on implementing monitoring, verification and safeguards work in Iran. The discussion took place during the session of the Agency's Board of Governors, currently held in Vienna.
His Excellency praised the continuous efforts made by HE Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi, and the response of officials in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and called on both sides for more cooperation and response.
HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Governor of the State of Qatar to the IAEA also affirmed that the State of Qatar urges Iran to continue its cooperation with the agency and the Director General, and to provide the information requested by the Agency in order to reach a final solution on the remaining issues.
