Assistant FM for Regional Affairs: HH the Amir's Speech Included Insights into Local, Regional, International Issues

HE Assistant Foreign Minister for Regional Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi highlighted the contents of the speech of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, today, at the opening of the second ordinary session of the first legislative term, corresponding to the 51st annual session of the Shura Council, pointing to the insights contained in the speech on all local, regional and international issues.
In a statement to Qatar news agency (QNA), His Excellency said that HH the Amir stressed that the State of Qatar has become a reliable partner in peacemaking and supporting stability thanks to its foreign policy approach based on compliance with international law, protecting its national gains, and adopting preventive diplomacy in defusing crises before they worsen, adding that His Highness drew attention to a very important thing, which is that the positive results achieved in this regard necessitates an active and responsible role regionally and globally.
He considered that the global lack of food and energy supplies and the economic recession are among the most prominent repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, pointing out that these repercussions negatively affect regional and international stability, so the speech highlighted the efforts of the State of Qatar to contribute to addressing the global energy resources shortage crisis in consultation with its partners, and through its strategic plans, including the expansion of the North gas field, which will have a significant impact in mitigating the repercussions of this crisis on the short and medium debt.
HE the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Regional Affairs said that the speech underscored that building credibility requires a strong economy, a cohesive society, a wise and persistent approach to international relations, as well as fulfilling obligations, at the level of Qatar's responsibility as a producer, energy exporter and investor, as well as meeting what the international community expects of Qatar and above all what Qatar expects from its people at the level of moral attitudes, solidarity and providing humanitarian aid, adding that the State of Qatar has earned the respect of the world thanks to its awareness of all these requirements, and its work with dedication and sincerity to translate them into reality.
