Qatar Participates in the FAO Regional Conference

The State of Qatar participated in the opening of the thirty-sixth session of the FAO Regional Conference for the Near East and North Africa, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers of Agriculture, Environment and Municipalities in countries of the Near East and North Africa group.

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Italian Republic and Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Agencies in Rome, Khalid bin Youssef Al Sada, represented the State of Qatar in the conference, which was held via video communication technology.

The conference discussed several important common issues concerning regional countries such as climate change, the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on agricultural food production, food markets, desertification and the water problem, transboundary animal diseases, food security, and a host r of common topics concerning countries of the region.
