Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Assistant Foreign Minister, met today, via video call, with His Excellency Mr. Sten Arne Rosnes, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Qatar.

During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and enhance them, in addition to the role of the State of Qatar in Afghanistan and its continuous support for the Afghan people.

His Excellency, the Ambassador, expressed Norway’s gratitude to the State of Qatar for its role in promoting stability in Afghanistan and its key role in evacuating Norwegian and Afghan citizens from Afghanistan.

The two parties also discussed the trespassing of two Norwegian citizens (journalists) on private property and filming without prior permission and without informing the owner of private property.  Her Excellency, the Assistant Foreign Minister, expressed Qatar's disappointment, given the strong partnership between the two countries, with the public statements from the Norwegian side, noting that all official statements about the incident failed to address the deliberate infringement of private property by the journalists.

Her Excellency emphasized that the Norwegian embassy must play a role in briefing its citizens who visit Qatar to uphold the rule of law.
