Qatar Welcomes the Ratification of the Constitutional Declaration in Syria

The State of Qatar welcomes the ratification of the Constitutional Declaration by His Excellency the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, hoping that this important historical step will form a solid foundation for organizing the transitional phase and building a state of institutions, justice, and freedoms that the Syrian brotherly people aspire to.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the provisions of the Constitutional Declaration, particularly the principle of separation of authoroties, the formation of a committee to draft a permanent constitution, the achievement of transitional justice, the protection of the freedoms and rights of all Syrians, and the commitment to the unity of the land and people, represent a starting point for building the country on new foundations. In this context, it emphasizes the necessity of local, regional, and international solidarity to enhance progress and stability in Syria.
