Qatar Strongly Condemns Statements by Israeli Occupation's Minister on West Bank Annexation
Doha | November 12 2024
The State of Qatar strongly condemns the statements made by the Israeli Finance Minister, which included directives to prepare the necessary infrastructure for the annexation of the occupied West Bank. Qatar considers these statements a blatant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, as well as a dangerous escalation that undermines the prospects for peace in the region, particularly amid the ongoing brutal war on the Gaza Strip and its horrific consequences.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes the urgent need for the international community to firmly oppose the Israeli occupation's settlement, colonial and racist policies, as well as its repeated violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, particularly its ongoing crimes in the West Bank, including its violations of religious sanctities and plans to Judaize Jerusalem. The Ministry also stresses the necessity of international solidarity now more than ever to achieve a two-state solution that paves the way for sustainable and just peace in the region.
The Ministry reaffirms that the repeated Israeli statements, which violate international laws and resolutions, clearly demonstrate that the occupation remains the primary obstacle to any peace and stability efforts.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirms the State of Qatar's steadfast and continuous position in supporting the Palestinian cause and the resilience of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution. This ensures the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
