Qatar Strongly Condemns Killing of Lebanese Journalists in Israeli Raid

The State of Qatar strongly condemns the killing of a number of Lebanese journalists and the injury of others in a strike by the Israeli occupation forces that targeted their accommodation in the capital Beirut, and considers it to be an extension of the series of heinous and systematic crimes of targeting journalists throughout the war on Gaza, a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, and a flagrant encroachment on freedom of media and expression and the peoples’ right to information.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need to hold the occupation accountable for this heinous crime, while it calls for urgent international action to force Israel to stop targeting media workers.
The Ministry expresses the State of Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Lebanon, and its wishes of recovery for the wounded.
