Qatar's Embassies, Consulates Abroad Continue National Sport Day Activities

The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad continued their sporting activities marking the National Sport Day.

In Washington, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the United States of America organized a sporting event on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of HE Qatar's ambassador to the United States Meshal bin Hamad Al Thani, HE Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs in the Near East Bureau at the U.S. Department of State Tim Lenderking, Washington D.C.'s Mayor Muriel Bowser , in addition to official representatives of clubs of board members of Redskins, DC United, Washington Spirit, current and former Redskin's players and over 400 children.

In his speech on this occasion, HE Qatar's ambassador to the United States stressed the importance of the National Sport Day, noting that it is an annual celebration aimed at encouraging and supporting youth participation in sport.

The annual celebration of the embassy in cooperation with a number of sports clubs and NGOs is held in order to teach children sports, inform them and participate in the Qatari culture and highlight their effective role in creating bridges of communication in the field of sports. " We are proud of our ongoing support, fruitful and effective partnerships in US society, " HE said.

The program included a special exhibition in which children were provided with virtual reality headsets, which allowed them to view the details of Lusail Sports Stadium, a stadium that will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA World Cup 2022 matches. It also included an exhibition on the Qatari heritage, as well as an Arabic language learning platform with Qatar Foundation and another platform for electronic games designed by the American Qatari Institute.

The Consulate General of the State of Qatar in New York , USA, organized a sporting event on the occasion of National Sport Day, with the participation of HE the Consul General of the State of Qatar in New York, Nasser Ibrahim Allenqawi and the diplomatic and administrative consulate staff. The program included a number of sports activities.

In London, the embassy of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom continued its sporting activities on the occasion of the National Sport Day. In cooperation with Sheffield Club and Leeds United College, the embassy held an event in Sheffield Club, with the participation of HE Qatars ambassador to the United Kingdom, Yousef Bin Ali Al Khater. The event included many recreational and sports activities with participation of many school students.

On this occasion, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the United Kingdom donated to the sports departments in local schools in order to encourage sports and spread a healthy life culture.

HE Qatars ambassador to the United Kingdom, stressed the importance of the Qatar's National Sport Day in encouraging generations in the country and abroad to adopt an active and healthy lifestyle. He expressed his admiration of the facilities and services provided by the English Sports Foundation, especially the Olympic Games facilities for persons with disabilities. 

In Pretoria, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of South Africa organized sports events on the occasion of the country's sporting day, with the participation of HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to South Africa Tariq Ali Al-Ansari, a number of ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of civil society, media personalities, and athletes. The embassy organized a large number of sporting activities that included football.

In Tirana, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Albania organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Albania Ali bin Hamad Al Marri, a number of Albanian officials, and representatives of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Albania. The activities included football and basketball games.

In Dar es Salaam, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the United Republic of Tanzania organized events on the occasion of the country's Sports Day, with the participation of HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Tanzania Hussain bin Ahmed Al Hamid, .

The activities involved organizing a football match between the embassy staff and Qatar Airways. There was also a running event among other sports activities. HE the ambassador commented on the occasion and said that Sports Day reflects the state's commitment to promoting sports and the important role it plays in realizing Qatar National Vision 2030.

In Bucharest, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Romania organized sporting events on the occasion of the states Sports Day, with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Romania Abdullah bin Nasser Al Hamidi, the diplomatic, and embassy staff. The program included a number of sporting activities such as walking among others.

In Bandar Seri Begawan, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Brunei organized sporting events on the occasion of the sporting day with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Brunei Jassim Bin Ali Al Obaidli and members of the embassy. The events included sports activities like running, walking and cycling.

In Caracas, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela held sporting events on the occasion of the country's sports day, which included various activities such as football.

In N'Djamena, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Chad organized events on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of embassy staff, which included various sports activities.

In Brasilia, the embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Brazil organized sports events on the occasion of the country's sports day, with the participation of members of the embassy and employees, which included various sports activities.

In Santo Domingo, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Dominican Republic organized sporting events on the occasion of the country's Sports Day with the participation of embassy staff. The program included cycling.

In Karachi, the General Consulate of the State of Qatar to Karachi organized sporting events on the occasion of the sporting day of the country with the participation of HE the Consul General Mishaal bin Muhammad Al Ansari, diplomats, administrative staff and consulate staff. The program included playing football matches.
