Qatar Participates in 31st Session of Arab Environment Ministers Council

The Council of Arab Environment Ministers, chaired by Libya and with the participation of Ministers of Member States and the General Secretariat of the Arab League, kicked off its 31st session today in Cairo.

The delegation of the State of Qatar is headed by HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al Sahlawi.

The session discusses the implementation of the resolutions of Arab Economic and Social Development Summits, especially those related to monitoring of radioactive pollution and integrated waste management in the Arab Region, and following up the implementation of the environmental dimension of the sustainable development goals,

The session will also discuss the preparation and follow-up to the sessions of the United Nations Environment Assembly, the drafting of the Arab position on the International Covenant on Environment, and the study of indicators of the environment and sustainable development.
