Qatari Delegation Visits Malaysia to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

A delegation from the State of Qatar which comprised of representatives from a number of ministries, companies, authorities, associations and businessmen, held a work visit to Malaysia to discuss promoting bilateral relations between both countries in vital fields including economy, investment, development, trade and industry.

The delegation was chaired by HE head of Department of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Tariq Ali Al Ansari, with the participation of HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Malaysia Fahad bin Mohammed Kafoud.

The delegation held in-depth technical discussions for three days, with the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ministries of trade, industry, investment, agriculture, education, culture, sports and youth. They agreed to cooperate in a number of developmental and operational projects and increase the economic cooperation. In addition to improve cooperation in the aviation and airport management fields.

They also discussed preparations for Doha hosting this fall the 14th edition of the World Islamic Economic Forum.

Both sides agreed on the importance of the discussions and what resulted from it as one of the successful outcomes of the visit held by HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Malaysia last December and the talks HH the Amir had with HE Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad.

The delegation included representatives from Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Public Works Authority (Ashghal), Qatar Free Zone Authority, Qatar Investment Authority, Hassad Food Company, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, Qatar Red Crescent Society, Qatar Charity, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Airways, Qatar Chamber, Qatar businessmen Association and Baladna Food Industries.
