Ambassador Al Emadi: Qatar Will not Let Go of Supporting Palestinian People

HE Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi affirmed that the State of Qatar will not abandon its established principles, including the support of the Palestinian people, particularly the population of the Gaza, in light of the siege imposed on the Strip.
At a press conference attended by UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov, HE Ambassador Al Emadi said that his visit to Gaza in this time aims to affirm to Palestinian people that "We are We are staying here to finish projects and implement new ones and to fulfill the commitments made by the State of Qatar in previous conferences." He said that Qatar's policy is to support peoples and governments. "Doha supports Hamas because it is a component of the Palestinian people, just like Fatah," he added.
Ambassador Al Emadi went on saying: "We hope that we can solve the problem of electricity in Gaza and we will continue to support the Palestinian cause politically and economically", adding that all projects implemented by Qatar in the Gaza Strip are coordinated with the Palestinian Authority.
He pointed out that, during the past five years, the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza implemented more than 100 projects in Gaza, including the HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani residential city in southern Gaza, adding that Doha will build 8 new buildings at a cost of USD 5.5 million.
