Qatar Reiterates its Continued Support for Palestinian People
Geneva/ Information Office/ 29 November 2016/ The State of Qatar has reiterated its continued support for the Palestinian people and its quest to regain its rights, calling on the relevant international institutions, especially the UN Security Council, to shoulder its responsibility to end the Israeli occupation of all Arab lands.
This came in a speech by delivered by Qatar's Permanent Representative to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna HE Ambassador Ali Khalfan Al Mansouri, at the United Nations event on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
HE the Ambassador said today we renew "the celebration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in its resolution 32/40 on the second of December 1977," noting that the General Assembly stressed in this resolution that a just and lasting peace in the Middle East could not be achieved without a just solution just to the Palestinian question based on the Palestinian people restoring its inalienable rights , including the right to return and the right to national independence and sovereignty and in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.
The UN General Assembly resolutions had contributed to consolidating the legal rights of the people of Palestine and support of its steadfastness, and stressed the substantive link between the just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue the achievement of peace and security in the Middle East, which is the key to peace and security in the world, HE the Ambassador added.
