Official Spokesperson for Ministry of Foreign Affairs Says Qatari Officials Intensify Diplomatic Activity Concerning Multiple Files

Advisor to Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari asserted that the next step for the return of diplomatic relations between the State of Qatar and the United Arab Emirates will focus on appointing the ambassadors, especially after the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Abu Dhabi and its consulate in Dubai and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Doha have resumed their works.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs weekly media briefing, Dr. Al Ansari outlined that the restoration of the diplomatic representation between the two countries is an embodiment of the desires of the two countries' leaderships and a promotion of the course of the joint Arab action to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
He outlined that the visits between the two countries' delegations have been continuing for months and the restoration of the diplomatic representation will constitute a positive impetus to the political relations, adding that the continuation of the exchange of visits between officials will be normal, noting that their meetings in regional and international meetings will continue as before, affirming that forthcoming visits between officials of the two countries are not ruled out.
Pertaining to the diplomatic representation between Qatar and Bahrain, Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari stated that the work is ongoing to open the embassies between the two countries, especially after the return of flights between them with the rate of 6 flights on daily basis, pointing out that the Qatari-Bahraini Follow-up Committee held its third meeting in Doha to complement its previous meetings in implementation of Al-Ula Declaration based on the desires of the two countries' leaderships to achieve interests and aspirations of the two brotherly peoples.
With regard to the visit of HE Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Hossien Amir Abdollahian and his accompanying delegation to Doha, the Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs outlined that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani met with the Iranian minister and his accompanying delegation. Afterwards, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held a session of talks with the Iranian minister within the framework of his tour to Qatar and Sultanate of Oman.
He pointed out that such a visit comes within the constant visits between Qatari and Iranian officials to support regional stability and security and bolster bilateral relations for the service of the two countries' peoples.
Advisor to Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari discussed the ministry's efforts, in addition to meetings of a number of politicians and diplomats with the ministry's officials, along with their external participations, including the participation in the High-Level Pledging Conference to support the humanitarian response in Sudan and the region co-chaired by the State of Qatar and a number of countries and international organizations, where the State of Qatar pledged USD 50 million, in addition to the support Qatar has been providing trough an air bridge since the breakout of fighting in Sudan, as well as Qatar's participation in the Seventh Brussels Conference on 'Supporting the future of Syria and the region' and pledged USD 75 million in aid for the Syrian people.
Dr. Al Ansari touched on the statement issued by the State of Qatar in which it strongly condemned the Israeli occupation's aggression on Jenin City and its camps that caused the fall of martyrs and injuries, deeming it a new episode in the series of the occupation's horrible crimes against the unarmed Palestinian people, particularly women and children, stressing the State of Qatar's firm position towards the just Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part, Director of Media and Communication Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim Sultan Al Hashmi pointed to the statement that was issued by the State of Qatar regarding its strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack that targeted a secondary school in Mpondwe town in the western region of Uganda that caused deaths and injuries, reaffirming the State of Qatar's firm position to reject violence and terrorism whatever their motives and reasons.
Al Hashmi said that HE Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi is visiting Mongolia to chair the five-day political consultation meeting between Qatar and Mongolia which convened yesterday and will discuss files incorporated on the agenda, as well as bilateral cooperation ties between the two countries.
Al Hashmi stated that HE Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater headed to London to chair the State of Qatar's delegation at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2023 which aims to contribute to the recovery of Ukraine through enhancing the role of private sector and building a flexible economy capable of overcoming changes, pointing out that Her Excellency would held a series of meetings with UK officials at the margins of the conference.
He added that Her Excellency will then depart to Paris to chair the State of Qatar's delegation participating in the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact that will be held in Paris on Jun. 22 and 23 with the participation of several heads of states and HE United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, alongside UN agencies and relevant international organizations. The summit intends to identify the international financial architecture to counter upheavals and crises.
