In this regard, Her Excellency said the State of Qatar believes in the close connection between diplomatic action and humanitarian action since the two directions are moving in lockstep with one another in promoting bilateral relations between countries and organizations operating in the humanitarian and diplomatic fields in alignment with the government and official efforts in the country, along with the efforts of the international cooperation which aim to facilitate the humanitarian action and help access to areas of crises and disasters through harnessing diplomatic relations and physical and logistical capabilities to positively be reflected on the foreign relations of the State of Qatar with countries of the world to be integrated into its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts.
She also commended the exceptional role undertaken by the offices of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Organizations to assist affected people in conflicts and disputes areas in various territories of the world without any racial and religious discrimination, since these offices are the first entities that arrive and move in every conflict that ignites or when a disaster befalls, adding that she saw them in Turkiye while Sudan is the new bleeding wound, adding that May Allah, the Almighty, heal this wound rapidly.
Her Excellency added that the Red Cross and Red Crescent are the first organizations that have been scrambling to provide relief measures to the victims of the ongoing fighting without hidden agendas or political calculations.
HE Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the hope that this meeting would be a new invitation to the international community to take concrete steps in the direction of improving the lives of the afflicted people, assisting the victims of conflicts and disasters and activating the sustainable development goals of 2030 for the best interest of humans and their happiness everywhere.
The Qatar Red Crescent Society is presiding over the current session, while two other vital events are due to be held on the margins of the session, namely the exhibition titled "Humanitarian Artists" and "International Humanitarian Law (IHL): Realities and Aspirations" workshop.
