Assistant Foreign Minister Meets OIC Secretary-General

HE Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met Thursday with HE Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha, on the sidelines of the 52nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council, held in Geneva.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and OIC, in addition to issues of mutual interest, especially those related to the escalation of hate speech, highlighting the importance that the organization takes a clear stance regarding the incidents of burning the Holy Qur'an in several European countries, as a phenomenon that constitutes hate speech. They also discussed a few Islamic initiatives.
The meeting was attended by HE Director of Human Rights Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Turki bin Abdulla Al Mahmoud, and HE Permanent Representative of State of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva Dr. Hind Abdul Rahman Al Muftah.
