Qatar's Embassy to France Organizes Artistic Workshop to Mark International Day of Islamic Art

The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the French Republic organized an artistic workshop to mark the International Day of Islamic Art within the framework of the cultural cooperation between the Arab World Institute in Paris and the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.

The workshop was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the French Republic Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani and HE President of Arab World Institute Jack Lang.

The exhibition "A treasure of gold.. The dinar is in all countries" was organized by the Arab World Institute.

Students of a Parisian school participated in the exhibition, and were shown a unique golden coin collection, which indicates the originality of coinage in the Arab and Islamic worlds, and the aspects it reflects in Islamic art, with its aesthetics, elegance, and the high craftsmanship of artists.

During their tour in the exhibition, the students got familiarized with the steps of coinage and forms of artistic expression, both ancient and contemporary, in the field of Islamic art and human civilization.

In his remark on this occasion, His Excellency Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani underlined the keenness of the State of Qatar to mark this international day to promote the cultural diversity and equality among all cultures in pursuit of finding an exit for the Islamic art from the borders of the countries in which it was originated to be a bridge of communication between the peoples and civilizations.

In addition, His Excellency underscored the constant cooperation between the Qatari and French cultural institutions which embody the richness and diversity of the relations between the two countries and contribute to deepening them in a wide range of fields.
