Assistant Foreign Minister Meets Chairman of Global Partnership for Education

HE Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met with HE Chair of the Board of the Global Partnership for Education and former President of United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete.
The meeting reviewed aspects of cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Global Partnership for Education.
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister highlighted the efforts of HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Chairperson of the Education Above All Foundation, and Her Highness's support for education in Tanzania.
HE the Assistant Foreign Minister praised the efforts of the Global Partnership for Education.
For his part, HE Dr. Jakaya Kikwete hailed the efforts of the State of Qatar in the field of education, and looked forward to more Qatari contributions in this important field.
The two sides expressed their concerns about women's education in Afghanistan. HE Dr. Jakaya Kikwete noted the importance of women's education, especially in Islam.
HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser launched the Education Above All Foundation in 2012 to include under its umbrella several international programs such as: Educate a Child, Al Fakhoora, Protect Education during Insecurity and Conflict, and Reach Out to Asia.
The Foundation's programs work to ensure that all children in developing countries benefit from their right to education.
The Foundation addresses education issues with a special commitment to the world's most disadvantaged groups through capacity building, resource mobilization, and multi-sectoral alliances and partnerships.
