Mexico Thanks the State of Qatar for Transporting and Securing the Arrival of Afghans to Its Land

The first plane from the Qatari Amiri Air Forces arrived today in Benito Juarez in Mexico City carrying a group of Afghan citizens coming to Mexico, after the State of Qatar hosted them for several days as part of 40,000 people it evacuated to Qatar before they head to their final destination.
HE Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States Marcelo Ebrard, Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs Carmen Moreno, and HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari were all in reception of the plane.
In a press conference, HE the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the United Mexican States thanked the State of Qatar and the Qatari Amiri Air Forces for the great efforts they made in evacuating Afghans and securing their arrival to safety, stressing that his country supports a peaceful resolution to Afghanistan.
For his part, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar praised the efforts of the Qatari Amiri Air Forces' efforts in the evacuation operations from Afghanistan to a number of countries, reiterating the State of Qatar's role as an impartial mediator and a reliable international partner. He also stressed Qatar's support of the Afghan people during this crisis.
