Qatari Committee Disburses Financial Grants to Needy Families, Those Affected by Coronavirus in Gaza

HE Chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi affirmed that the committee, in cooperation and coordination with the Qatar Fund for Development, started Tuesday the process of disbursing cash assistance to needy families and those who are affected by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Gaza Strip.

Al Emadi explained that the cash assistance disbursement to 100,000 needy families is scheduled to end within three days, after which the process of disbursing cash assistance to 70,000 families affected by the Coronavirus will begin, at $100 per family.

His Excellency added that the distribution process is carried out through the Postal Bank and its branches and new points in the governorates of the Strip, under the full supervision of the Qatari Committee staff and in cooperation with the competent government agencies, led by the Ministry of Social Development.

He stressed that the distribution process is taking place within new and strict preventive measures to confront the outbreak of the Coronavirus, in a way that ensures achieving the highest standards of safety and complete safety for the beneficiaries and workers in the distribution centers, and to ensure their commitment to prevention, sterilization and social distancing measures in light of the outbreak and spread of the Coronavirus in the Gaza Strip.
