Qatar Embassy Provides Medical, Preventive Equipment for Workers in El Salvador's Penitentiary Centers

 The Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of El Salvador, in coordination with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in El Salvador, provided medical and preventive equipment for workers in prisons and penitentiary centers in El Salvador, as part of the Global Programme for the Implementation of the Doha Declaration.

The press conference, held on this occasion, was attended by HE El Salvador's Deputy Minister of Justice and Director-General of Penitentiary Centers Osiris Luna, Acting Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy of the State of Qatar to El Salvador Tariq Othman Al Othman, and Head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Monica Mendoza.

Al Othman affirmed at the press conference that Qatar will continue to support El Salvador to confront the outbreak of the Covid-19 crisis.

He said that providing support, including personal protection supplies, for front line workers in prisons and penitentiary centers in El Salvador comes in coordination with the UNODC within the framework of the Doha Declaration.
