Qatar Transports 12 Injured in Mogadishu Attack for Medical Treatment in Doha

An official source at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the State of Qatar on Thursday dispatched an equipped plane with medical staff to the Aden Adde International Airport in the Somali capital Mogadishu to transport those injured in the suicide attack that targeted officials in the municipality of Mogadishu, to Doha for medical treatment.

The source said in remarks that the plane has 12 injured people onboard, including the mayor of Mogadishu, in addition to 16 escorts, led by HE Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Somalia Khadijo Mohamed Diriye.

It is worth noting that HE Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Somalia Mahdi Mohamed Gulaid and HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Somalia Hassan bin Hamza Hashim welcomed the plane as it landed in Mogadishu, along with a number of ministers and deputies in the People's Assembly and Senate in Somalia, and representatives of regional and international organizations accredited to Somalia.
