HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi met here today with HE First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden Kenneth G. Forslund.
During the meeting, they discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them, the latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the expanding circle of violence in the region and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability.
HE the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the State of Qatar's support for the efforts aimed at an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the entry of urgent humanitarian aid into the Strip.
For his part, HE the First Deputy Speaker of the Swedish Parliament praised the role of the State of Qatar in the mediation process in Gaza, as well as its role in bringing humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The meeting was attended by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom of Sweden Nadia bint Ahmed Al Shaibi, HE Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Saoud bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, and the accompanying delegation.
