HE Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater met on Friday with HE European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf region Luigi Di Maio, on the sidelines of the 3rd Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
During the meeting, they discussed cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and the EU and ways to strengthen the strategic coordination between the two sides. They also discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, especially the necessity of establishing sustainable humanitarian corridors to bring humanitarian aid into the Strip.
HE the Minister of State for International Cooperation stressed that bringing humanitarian aid into Gaza and achieving a comprehensive and just peace represent a top priority for the State of Qatar. She added that the indicators of the beginning of a real famine in the northern Gaza Strip require urgent and effective action to avoid its dangerous repercussions, especially after the brutal "flour massacre," which was committed by the Israeli occupation and led to the fall of dozens of martyrs and injured people who were waiting to receive aid.
In turn, HE the EU Special Representative for the Gulf region thanked the State of Qatar for its effective efforts, especially in Gaza, Ukraine, and Afghanistan.
