HE Chairman of Qatar Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi announced that the committee, in cooperation with Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), have supported the health sector in Gaza with an advanced device for the testing of samples of coronavirus (COVID-19).

His Excellency said that the cost of the new device, which was introduced for the first time in the Gaza Strip, along with the provision of about 20,000 of the swabs needed to examine citizens reached about USD 150,000, adding that the provision of the new device will contribute significantly to solving the crisis of the accumulated check-ups at the Ministry of Health in Gaza, and that it was provided in response to the repeated calls of the Ministry to contribute to curbing the spread of the virus.

Al Emadi stressed that the State of Qatar continues to provide all forms of support to the residents of Gaza in different sectors, calling on the international community and donor countries to provide the necessary and urgent aid to the residents of the Strip to face the humanitarian crises they have been experiencing.
